RIBBON OF HOPE TO HOLD ANNUAL MARDI GRAS WINE TASTING
The Ribbon of Hope Foundation is holding its 5th annual wine tasting event to celebrate Mardi Gras on Fat Tuesday, February 5, 2008, 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Tundra Lodge in Green Bay. “It is in the spirit of joy, we remember Ribbon of Hope’s founder, Kathy Miller, who passed away on July 28, 2007. Her vision, courage and joyful embrace of each new day inspires us to continue her work of supporting those confronted with breast cancer, while finding reasons to celebrate life,” ROH Board.
The Ribbon of Hope Foundation provides financial, informational and emotional resources for individuals with breast cancer in Northeastern Wisconsin. All funds raised remain in the community. The Foundation is staffed solely by volunteers enabling the majority, 97% of the funds raised to go directly to those in need. Cost to attend this year’s event is $50.
The event runs from 6:30 to 9 pm and features Mardi Gras masks to honor, or in memory of, those with breast cancer, live entertainment, and great raffles featuring food, wine and getaways to ski or spa resorts. Local vintners will feature their favorite wines: Captain’s Walk, Door Peninsula, Parallel 44, Stone’s Throw and Von Steihl. Hors d’ouevres will feature the culinary delights of Chef Jenn and her students at Fox Valley Technical College, as well as Chef Lucas and his staff at the Tundra Lodge. Decadent desserts will be featured by Apple Creek Inn, Bouchee, Elegant Moose and Not By Bread Alone.
