The largest music festival ever presented in Upper Michigan is coming to Kingsford,
Michigan this summer, Friday July 11th and Saturday, July 12th at Lodal Park. The
2008 Hog Wild Music Jam will be a spectacular event combining a remarkable
roster of music, a state barbecue competition, and a classic car show. The Boss
Snowplow has signed on as the primary sponsor of this weekend celebration.
Major local, regional and national chart-topping acts will be performing on two main
stages over the two-day festival including The Britins, The Buckinghams, Chubby
Checker and The Wildcats, Dennis DeYoung formerly of the group Styx, Vic Ferrari,
The Grass Roots starring Rob Grill, and The Little River Band, just to name a few.
While the music plays, the Fourth Annual U.P. HogWild State Championship BBQ
Cook- Off will be underway where dozens of teams, from throughout the midwest,
are expected to compete for the best BBQ in the state of Michigan. Proceeds from
the Cook-Off will go towards the U.P. camp for kids with diabetes.
The 32nd Annual Upper Peninsula Antique Car Club Show will also join the
festivities by displaying over 120 classic cars on the Lodal Park field near the main
concert stages. If you’re a car lover, this is the event to attend.
Kingsford High School will be celebrating its first ever All-Class Reunion that same
weekend with a parade, contests and get-togethers focused around the Hog Wild
Music Jam. Abra Cadabra Arcade Jumps from Gladstone, MI. will be providing
games and inflatables for kids of all ages.
“We’re expecting families from the entire midwest to join us for a weekend of fun,
BBQ, cool cars and great music,” said John Jessen, Event Coordinator for U.P Hog
Wild. “Everyone will be surrounded by endless amounts of entertainment,” he added.
