The Appleton, Fox West, Heart of the Valley & Neenah-Menasha YMCAs are to hold their annual Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, May 3, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Sponsored by title sponsor: ThedaCare and participating sponsors: Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Fox Valley, ThedaCare Physicians Pediatrics and Northwestern Mutual Foundation. Healthy Kids Day celebrates how fitness can be fun by introducing children to special YMCA programs and activities just for them. This event is FREE and open to the public.
Healthy Kids Day will feature a variety of educational booths, attractions, demonstrations and performances.
ThedaCare will be featuring a bike and skating clinic at both the Appleton and Neenah-Menasha YMCAs from 9:30 a.m.- Noon (or until helmet supply runs out). Kids can bring in their bike, inline skates or scooters to complete a safety course on important biking and skating skills. On completion of the safety course, children kindergarten through 4th grade will receive a FREE Bell helmet and a Brandon’s Champion ID tag. Registration is not required.
The Heart of the Valley YMCA will be holding the Metro Police Department Bike Rodeo. Kids can bring in their bikes to complete a safety course, along with learning valuable safety information. Kids will receive free bike helmets while supplies last.
This is also a great way for parents to encourage safe riding behaviors and the importance of wearing a helmet to their children.
