Benefit
In more than 50 years of doing business in northern Door County, the Greenwood Supper Club has always found a way to give back to the community that supports it.
Now, the owner’s friends have turned to the community for help.
Last fall Rick Kwaterski, owner of the Greenwood, suffered a stroke. He has been hospitalized ever since. Medical insurance no longer covers the extended medical care required to care for Kwaterski, according to organizers of a fundraiser on his behalf.
Out-of-pocket costs are depleting the Kwaterski’s personal resources.
In an effort to assist Rick, his wife, Sue, and their son, Taylor, with medical costs, the Friends of the Greenwood group is hosting a benefit Sunday, April 27, in Fish Creek. The benefit will start at 11 a.m. at Alexander’s Restaurant on State 42 between Fish Creek and Ephraim.
The benefit will include brunch and afternoon hors d’oeuvres and live music by Big Mouth until 4 p.m.
A suggested donation of $15 at the door for adults and $10 for students includes food and entertainment. The event will include a silent auction, 50-50 raffle, wheel of prizes and grab bags.
Friends and supporters can attend the benefit or donate to the Rick Kwaterski Fund at any Baylake Bank Branch or North Shore Bank Branch.
The benefit is being organized and sponsored by the Gibraltar Business Education / DECA group and Alexander’s Restaurant, in cooperation with Baylake Banks and North Shore Bank branches.
A brochure advertising the fundraiser was designed by Ann Kaczmarek, a senior in the entrepreneurship class at Gibraltar High School.
Questions can be directed to Robin Sodd at 888-936-5626, or North Shore Bank, 2614 Bay Shore Drive, Sister Bay, WI 54235.
Walk-in donations are also being accepted at any North Shore or Baylake Bank branch in Door County, Green Bay, Milwaukee and throughout Wisconsin. Questions can be directed to Robin Sodd at 888-936-5626. Otherwise, be sure to attend the benefit at Alexanders on Highway 42 in Fish Creek on Sunday, April 27. 11 am to 4:00 at Alexanders.
