Steven Faulkner Book Signing
Steven Faulkner, a writer who shares his craft as a creative writing instructor at Longwood University in southern Virginia, will be signing his travel memoir, Waterwalk: A Passage of Ghosts at BayShore Books, 302 Collins Avenue in Oconto.
In 1996 Steven Faulkner came to realize he lost touch with his teenage son. What better way to slow things down and bring them closer together than to take a two-month canoe trip. They followed the route first taken in 1673 by the early French explorers Joliet and Marquette to discover the Upper Mississippi River- 300 miles along Lake Michigan's Upper Peninsula, 300 miles across the entire state of Wisconsin, first up the storm-flooded Fox River and then down the Wisconsin River. Finally they turned south on the Mississippi River and floated down the Big Muddy 400 miles to St. Louis.
