MASTER GARDENER PLANT SALE – SUNDAY JUNE 1, 2008
The annual Waupaca County Master Gardener Spring Plant Sale will be held on Sunday, June 1st from 8am to 2pm at the Waupaca County Fairgrounds in Weyauwega. The sale will have a wide variety of perennials, annuals, native plants, houseplants, and garden accents. NEW THIS YEAR is a special section of unusual and award-winning perennials featuring huecheras and Echinacea.
FREE SEMINARS
During the sale, there will be two informational seminars offered FREE:
10am: ‘Creative Container Gardening’
Shelly Graziano-Christie of Graziano Gardens, LLC
Learn how to create dazzling container gardens using annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees and more! Plant selection, color, texture, proportion and scale will be discussed as well as ideas for fun and unusual containers. Come and let your imagination go wild!
12pm: ‘Living Wreaths’
Lorry Brace, Waupaca County Master Gardener Volunteer
Living wreaths are one of the hottest trends in gardening. Preparation, plant selection and design will be discussed as Lorry demonstrates how to make a living wreath using succulents and groundcovers.
The Spring Plant Sale is the primary fundraiser for the Waupaca Master Gardner Association. All members are volunteers serving the public through education, community projects and outreach programs throughout Waupaca County. 2008 projects include children’s’ gardens, book donations to libraries, planting and maintenance of community flower gardens and the new community garden providing free produce to area food pantries. ext.12
