Anderson Dock Party
The summer of 2008 marks a very special milestone for the Village of Ephraim – the 150th birthday of the Anderson Dock and the Anderson Store! And what better way to celebrate than to have a birthday party? The Ephraim Historical Foundation, along with support from the Village of Ephraim and the Francis Hardy Center for the Arts, is hosting an Anderson “Dock Party” on Thursday, June 12 from 5:00 – 8:30 pm.
Food, music, and plenty of fun will abound at this special event – a thirteen-piece brass band playing old-time tunes, a picnic dinner with an old-fashioned pie and ice-cream social, talks about the rich history of the Dock and the Store, a family Sing-Along to close the evening, and much more! The full schedule of events is listed below:
5:00 – 8:30 pm: Dock Party begins – Anderson Store, Barn, and the Francis Hardy Center for the Arts open. Local “plein air” painters near the Dock, Store, and Barn for the duration of the evening.
5:00 – 8:30 pm: “Images of America: Ephraim” book signing at the Anderson Store
5:00 – 8:30 pm: Old-time movie screenings at the Anderson Dock
5:10 – 5:30 pm: Door County artist Charles “Chick” Peterson talks about the Anderson Dock & Store, and the influence in his artwork
5:30 – 7:30 pm: Croquet and badminton games on the Anderson Barn History Center Lawn
5:35 – 5:55 pm: Ephraim Yacht Club presentation – “The EYC & the Anderson Dock”
6:00 – 7:30 pm: Musical entertainment by the Newtonburg Brass Band
6:00 – 8:00 pm: “150 Years of the Anderson Store & Barn” exhibit reception at the Anderson Barn History Center
6:15 – 7:00 pm: Ice-cream making demonstration outside the Francis Hardy Center for the Arts
6:30 – 7:30 pm: Picnic dinner at the Anderson Dock
7:00 – 8:00 pm: Pie and ice-cream social at the Anderson Dock
8:00 – 8:30 pm: Ephraim Family Sing-Along at the Anderson Dock
Prices for the dinner and dessert are as follows:
Adults: $4.00/$5.00/$8.00 (dessert only/dinner only/dinner and dessert)
Children ages 12 and under: $4.00/$3.00/$6.00 (dessert only/dinner only/dinner and dessert)
The Anderson Dock party is open to the public, and admission to the event is free. Tickets for the picnic dinner and pie and ice-cream social will be sold on the day of the event only.
