DOOR COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY CELEBRATES BARK IN THE PARK PET WALK ON SEPTEMBER 6
The Door County Humane Society will once again host its Bark in the Park celebration Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Sunset Park located in Sturgeon Bay.
Bark in the Park is an annual event for the Door County Humane Society and is the shelter’s single largest fundraiser. In 2007, over 100 people and their dogs attended the event.
Cost to participate the in Bark in the Park Pet Walk is $25 per individual or $50 per family. However, participants are encouraged to raise as much money as possible from friends and family. There will be prizes awarded for top money raisers. Registration begins at 9am with a 2-mile walk through beautiful Sunset Park at 10am led by Harley the Camel.
Along with plenty of great booths to browse, Mike and Bob Starr will be providing musical entertainment throughout the day. Lunch will be provided with an awards ceremony to follow.
Other special events include obedience demonstrations with Appletree Kennels and a chance for walkers to visit with Maggie Weir and learn more about the Northeastern WI Leaderdog Puppy Project.

The Door County Humane Society’s mission is to provide a safe haven for lost or homeless pets while working to reunite them with their owners or place them with a new loving family.
