Description / Comments

How was the 4th of July celebrated in 1830?  In Northeast Wisconsin an active Fort Howard protected the mouth of the Fox River, and a Growing Community was taking shape.  Today visitors can enter some of the same buildings and relive the celebrations of that day almost 180 years ago during the Celebrate the 4th special event at Heritage Hill State Historical Park.

While the entire park will be open for viewing, special July 4th activities will feature the Fort Howard area and the Growing Community. Special programming will include historic dancing, a school of the soldier program, reading of the entire Declaration of Independence, the national salute, listening and learning about Spy Letters of the Revolution and a special military funeral honoring those who paid the ultimate price for freedom.

Celebrate the 4th! takes place on Friday, July 4th from 10am-4:30pm.  Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors ( 62+) and $6 for children 5-17(children 4 and under free).

Heritage Hill is a living history site in Green Bay, Wisconsin comprised of over 25 historic buildings and interpreting history from the 1600s-1900s.
