Library’s Summer Reading Program Kick Off features “Wise Guy & His Gal”
Brown County Library will kick off its 2009 Summer Reading Programs with a fun, family-oriented celebration on Saturday, June 6, 2009 from 10 a.m. - Noon, in the garden of the Central Library, 515 Pine Street, downtown Green Bay.
This event features two performances by the comedic duo, Wise Guy & His Gal. Audiences of all ages will be highly entertained while watching Wise Guy & His Gal explore the world of reading through acting, singing, dancing, puppets, audience participation, and lots of comedy. Kids will see how books and their imaginations can enable them to create a world of learning, excitement and fun. The style of the show is a series of very fast moving 3-5 minute comedy sketches.
Wise Guy & His Gal are Joe and Miki Wise of Chilton, WI. Joe has learned the fine art of entertaining while educating by combining his 18 years of experience as an elementary school counselor with his professional experience as an actor/singer/dancer. Miki is an art teacher who also works as a professional choreographer and apparel designer. Joe and Miki know how important energy, excitement, humor, and pizzazz are to keeping the attention of young minds
While enjoying this fun-for-all-ages event kids can have their faces painted and play outdoor games, go on a scavenger hunt and enter a drawing to win a variety of prizes including tickets to “Day Out with Thomas” at the National Railroad Museum. The library’s mascot, Rover Reader, will attend and be available for pictures. Complimentary balloons, popcorn and A&W root beer (courtesy of Green Bay A&W Restaurants) will be available. The event will be held indoors in case of rain.
