Business Identity Theft Seminar
Thursday, June 11, 12:30-1:30pm at
American National Bank Fox Cities
2200 N. Richmond St., Appleton
(Appleton, WI) Businesses are targets of identity theft as well as individuals. All businesses
have occasion to discard data: customer lists, price lists, sales statistics, drafts of bids,
correspondences and even memos that contain information about business activity that could
interest any competitor. Every business is also entrusted with information from employees
and customers that must legally be kept private and protected. It is also becoming more
prevalent that client lists and information is being obtained from used electronic gadgets that
are no longer being used such as cell phones, fax machines, copiers, obsolete computer
systems and parts.
American National Bank Fox Cities and the Better Business Bureau of Wisconsin invite you
to a panel discussion with JoEllen Wollangk from the Better Business Bureau, WI, Gerald
Stephani from Security Shredders and Sergeant Tom Poss from Appleton Police Department
on ways to protect your business, your employees and customers and what to do if you
become a victim.

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to be a
leader in marketplace trust. Within that mission, the BBB provides education on consumer
awareness and security among other programs. American National Bank Fox Cities created
a partnership in education with the BBB for a series of Consumer Awareness Seminars on ID
Theft, Scams and Business ID Theft. In this seminar, JoEllen Wollangk, Vice President and
NE Regional Manager for the Better Business Bureau of Wisconsin, will speak about
experiences gathered from the trenches on business identity theft.
Gerald Stephani, owner of Security Shredders has had direct experience with the materials
that thieves need – the sensitive business information that gets shredded (or should be
shredded) on a regular basis. It is important to completely destroy the unused information.
He will speak on his experience working with many businesses destroying documents and
other materials that may compromise security. These businesses include medical, legal,
financial, educational and governmental institutions, as well as many other businesses and
individuals.
Sergeant Tom Poss from Appleton Police Department will speak on Wisconsin State Law,
self protection, and what to do if you become a victim.
Join us on Thursday, June 11, from 12:30 to 1:30 for this important information event at
American National Bank Fox Cities, 2200 North Richmond Street, Appleton, WI 54911. Free
