Robert (CrazyBob) Vanover, Manitowoc County Airshow founder, and Manitowoc Aviation resources inc board member. Wants to remind your viewers that if they are unemployed they may attend the 17th annual Manitowoc county Airshow, ”Thunder on the Lakeshore” free or charge. This year’s Airshow will be held on June 6-7, 2009 at the Manitowoc County airport. To receive free admission, individuals will need to present evidence at the entrance that they are unemployed and a photo id. Vanover indicated that proof of unemployment can be in the form of a weekly claim certification from the state, unemployment check stub, letter from a former employer or copy of a direct deposit confirmation from the unemployment department.
Vanover, who is employed by the Wisconsin department of workforce development as an unemployment benefit specialist, was inspired when watching a news report on the record rate of unemployment in northeastern Wisconsin. “Being unemployed in these economic times leaves little money for quality family entertainment, such as the annual Thunder on the Lakeshore event”, Vanover said. “I brought my thoughts to the Board of Manitowoc Aviation Resources, who sponsors the annual event and they unanimously approved the proposal to allow free admission to the unemployed”
Manitowoc Aviation Resources, Inc. is a 401(3)c tax exempt charitable organization, the mission of the corporation is to provide aviation education to those in northeastern Wisconsin. Additional information regarding the airshow can be found at www.thunderonthelakeshore.com
