MAILBOX TO MAILBOX - LAKE GENEVA                                Tuesday July 14

This year’s Lake Geneva outing offers a full boat tour of the lake with all it’s beautiful estates and gorgeous scenery.  The waterfront mansions, however, will be seen from a slightly closer perspective because we’ll be accompanying the U.S. Mail carrier as s/he delivers the post into each owner’s mailbox.   Aboard the Walworth, you will witness the only marine mail delivery of this type in the U.S.  Started in 1873, the marine delivery highlights the prowess of both the carrier and the captain: at each pier, the carrier leaps off the bow of the boat, puts the mail into the box, grabs the outgoing post, and jumps back aboard the Walworth.  And the boat never stops!  Watching such an effort works up an appetite, so after we dock, we’ll enjoy a satisfying lunch beside the lake.  Following your meal, there will be time for shopping and strolling in the town of Lake Geneva.
