Children can explore and learn all about nature at the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary’s Nature Nuts: Sprouts program being held
Monday, July 13 through Thursday, July 16 from 9 – 11:30 a.m. This four day program offers hands-on training experience for the aspiring naturalist. Mini-programs and crafts will feature plants, trees and animals.
“This program gives children the chance to learn about nature while getting their hands dirty at the same time,” says Kim Diedrich, chief naturalist of the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary. “The kids will receive a hands-on experience of exploring the natural world around them.”
During this four-day program, children will participate in habitat comparisons, pond collection and sampling and craft projects. On the final day of the program, participants will embark on a treasure/scavenger hunt located on the Sanctuary’s nearly six miles of trails.
Nature Nuts: Sprouts is geared for children ages 9 to 12. Cost is $35 per Green Bay resident or Friends member and $50 per non-resident. Enrollment is limited and pre-registration is required. Each session will repeat so only register your child for one session. For more information, call (920) 391-3671.
