Howe Neighborhood Family Resource Center in
downtown Green Bay. I wanted to let you know about the upcoming Art and
Culture Week we are hosting for children from grades 1-5. It is from July
13-17, from 12pm-3pm each day. We are bringing in Sandy Shackleford, a
local artist, and Juliet Cole, the associate director of the Institute for
Learning Partnership at UWGB, to teach the kids about different forms of
art. Sandy will be teaching the younger kids (grades 1 and 2) about picture
books and their illustrations using a variety of media. Juliet will be
teaching the older kids (grades 3,4, and 5) about African Dance and they
will be able to experience it firsthand as they dance to traditional music.
The kids will be exhibiting their newly acquired knowledge and skills from the week on Friday, July 17 at 2:15pm. There will be a dance performance and art exhibit for parents,
friends, and the community to see.
