“DOC’S HARLEY-DAVIDSON 8TH ANNUAL LEGAL COUNTRY DRAGS FOR CHARITY”
Kaukauna, Wisconsin, Sunday July 12th, 2009—More than 100 motorcycle drag racers are expected to converge on the Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna to compete in the “8th Annual Doc’s Harley-Davidson Legal Country Drags for Charity.” The drag race will take place on the ¼ mile asphalt drag strip used primarily for car drag racing. The sound of the deep Harley-Davidson rumbles & 2-wheeled drag racing action will be an exciting change from the ordinary for Wisconsin International Raceway. The show is sure to bring hundreds of motorcycle drag racing enthusiasts to the area.
Event registration begins at 8am. Qualifying begins at 10am. Elimination rounds are scheduled to start at 1pm. The event is open to the public, but only motorcycles will be allowed to compete for the $3,000 in prize money. Event admission is $12 per person. Race registration is $25 per class. Six unique classes of motorcycles will be present to compete in the event ranging from stock street motorcycles to Top-Fuel Nitro-methane burning Harleys capable of over 200 MPH in the ¼ mile in just over 6 seconds. Two of the competitors in the Nitro Harley category will be the world-record-breaking, Steve “Doc” Hopkins (owner of Doc’s Harley-Davidson of Shawano County) & his daughter, Kersten. Special exhibition runs by the Dragon’s Fire Jet Dragster & the Blue Max Funny car will also be featured. This event is the only one of it’s kind in Northeast Wisconsin.
