The Fox Valley Symphony is proud to announce the 35th Anniversary season of the Youth Orchestras program. We will begin our celebration with a Fall Concert which will feature the Youth Symphony and Philharmonia Strings on Sunday, November 8 at 4:30 pm in the Lawrence Memorial Chapel. This will be the first performance of their season and will feature some of the finest young musicians in the valley!
General seating tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for students and are will be available at the Fox Valley Symphony office and Heid Music beginning October 5th. They will also be available in the Chapel lobby on the afternoon of the concert.
The Philharmonia Strings, conducted by Greg Austin, will begin the concert with Sinfonia to Saul by George F. Handel, arranged by Philip Clark, Danza Antico by Elliot A. Del Borgo, Last Spring by Edward Grieg, arranged by John O’Neill, Legend by David O’Fallon, and 1812 Overture by Peter Tchaikovsky, arranged by Andrew Dabczynski.
After a brief intermission, the Youth Symphony, under the leadership of Gary Wolfman, will perform with Richard Wagner’s Overture to Die Meistersingers von Nurnberg and Peter Tchaikovsky’s Capricco Italien with full orchestra. Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings in C major, Op. 48 will be performed between these two pieces by the string sections.
