The Advocacy Council of the Heart of the Valley Chamber of Commerce, Inc is sponsoring a “Meet you School Superintendents” breakfast meeting for Friday, November 6, 2009, from 7:30a.m – 8:45a.m. The Meeting will be held at the Heart of the Valley Chamber of Commerce, located at Hwy 55 and Wisconsin Avenue in Kaukauna.
We have invited the Superintendents from our five area school districts to participate: (Freedom, Kaukauna, Kimberly, Little Chute, and Wrightstown)
Issues to be discussed are:
1. What is the increase in your total tax levy?
2. What is the % increase in your total compensation budget? What increase in cost of living are you using for 2009 and 2010? What is the cost of benefits as a % of total compensation?
3. What is the cost of benefits as a % of total compensation? What is the annual health care premium for family coverage? How much of that cost is borne by the employee?
4. Have you made any effort to consolidate purchasing of supplies, furniture and services with other school districts?
5. What long range strategies are you considering to deal with the continued erosion of the property tax support by the Governor and the State Legislature?
