Kemosabe Therapy
Kemosabe Therapy: a Native spoken word multi-media Concert
M. Cochise Anderson, a multi-talented performing artist, performs an eclectic spoken word concert at the Harmony Café on Friday, Nov. 13th at 6:00pm in Green Bay, WI. Admission is free, donations will be accepted throughout the performance.
It’s an exciting, low-tech concert featuring spoken “word songs” set to native rhythms. His “word songs” speak about the stereotypes of Native American people. His CD, “The Kemosabe Therapy,” was nominated for the 2005 Indian Summer Music Awards in the category of Spoken Word. The “Kemosabe Therapy,” concert is a presentation of the Oneida Nation Arts Program (ONAP). Admission to the concert in the Harmony Café is free; donations will be accepted during the performance. This presentation is supported by the Performing Arts Fund, a program of Arts Midwest funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts with additional contributions from Wisconsin Arts Board, General Mills Foundation, and Land O’Lakes Foundation.
After his performance, Cochise will continue on to host the “Open Mike” night at the Harmony Café. It is his hope that local youth and students will have some creative work to present along with in his concert, or during the following Open Mike night.
Cochise is scheduled to conduct a week-long “artist in residence” program at the Oneida Nation High School. He’ll work with students to produce a multi-media project about their perspectives of life in Oneida from Nov. 9-13th.
Standout tracks on his “Kemosabe Therapy” CD include the title song, "The Kemosabe Therapy," written in response to the grip mainstream media has on Native peoples' images, as well as making Native actors economic hostages.
“Pro-Ject,” "Hey man, guess what happened?...The projection of the creation that's yours. No sorrows apply" (check the funky flute!)
“Coyote State Of Mind,” To appreciate the continual revealing and reveling within our experience "Now courage is needed if U or I should continue...Where no man..."
Cochise has many awards, fellowships, and acting credits to his name. For more info, visit his
