I was very very mad that Regis and Kelly was interrupted due to the fact that we had to announce a football players retirement.  It was not a bad snow storm or a threat to our president....But a football players retirement????!!!!  Come on!

I was over it...the minute it was announced!! (the fact that a football player retires)

I'm also not a football fan of any kind, so I wish the town would respect the non-sports loving community too and announce this stuff on a sports station of some sort or wait till the sports report

I know, I know....I should move out of a football town, right??  Hey, it's not my fault my family set up camp here. 

Oh my god, that was hillarious.  Thanks for giving my officemates and I such a good laugh.  However, if you are actually serious dancergirl I am sad for you.  Whether you like football or not Brett Favre has done so much for the community of Green Bay not to mention the enourmous boost to the local economy.  If you haven't noticed in the time you've lived here but people regard him as a huge Hero and even GOD like.   I'm not a big Packer fan either, but whether you choose to ignore it or not, this is HUGE news for not only football fans, but the community as a whole.  I'm sorry you had to miss what must have been very engaging and interesting television.  What, did you miss Kelly talk about her kids or a provocative interview with someone from Grey's Anatomy?  GET A CLUE and know what's important to citizens of this area.  You better TIVO Regis and Kelly tomorrow in case there is another news conference.  "I was very mad that Regis and Kelly was interrupted."   HAHAHAHAHA.

Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but everyone knows around here when there is Packer news, especially like this, it will trump most anything else.  Favre and his wife have given a little more to this community than Regis and Kelly, for example.  He was a model athelete and many looked up to him, and Deanna.  If they would have broken in and told us Britney Spears was hospitalized or pregnant again, then I would be very upset myself.  Sorry you missed your show, but that is how it goes with the Packers and news around here.

I have never worked fast food Zappa, dont' jump to conclusions.  We were laughing because we've never heard anyone get upset about missing Regis and Kelly.  For your information I work in the paper industry.  So I'll make an assumption about you.  Your mother is calling you from upstairs....you better go up for dinner time.  

And people are telling me I am not funny.  I am glad that I made someone laugh. And my post seems to attract attention.  I've never been sooo popular. lol!

I just feel it ridiculous that the general public find Packer news so important that they have to break in to tell us.  I am sure you would find it ridiculous if a Packer game was interrupted to let you know some latest news that is of no interest to you..  It's the same thing. 

I'm sure none of you were upset that Ashly Delgrosso didn't return to the 4th season of Dancing with the stars. Who's Ashly?  Exactly, it doesn't interest you.  But that is the sort of thing that upsets me...just like Brett to all of you. 

But thank you to those who entitle me to my opinion.  And I am sure that there are more people in the Green Bay area that are not interested in Packer news. But they are afraid to voice their opinion because of ridicule.

Thank you for letting me be entitled to my opinion.  It's hard to find a place in this town to vent to someone when you get angry about that type of thing.  Blogging online is my only chance. No one is going to grab their torches and pitchforks and hunt me down here...I hope!?!?.  Thanks again ZappaNut.

 

UM EXCUSE ME Farve's retirement is way more important then REGIS AND KELLY!!!!! Farve is a legend what are Regis and Kelly going to be one day? Nothing!!! So if you have a problem maybe your family shouldn't live in Packer Country. But this is just my opinion

If the retirement would have interrupted any other program it would have bothered me then too.  I can't stand football, and I never will.  I actually went to one game in 90's sometime to please somebody, I gave it a shot but I couldn't see the hype. I like the arts, not sports.  But it seems that most of you are sports nuts and I'm artsy fartsy.  But I tend to not follow the crowd to be my own person. And if that means I get shunned. Then so be it.  If we were all the same the world would be a boring place.  You can like your sports and I can like the arts.

I am also entitled to my opinion.  I also don't care if you were a sportswriter...good for you.  That has absolutely nothing to do with what I was addressing in my first post and doesn't change anything.  I was explaining to the original poster that Brett Favre's retirement IS a big deal in this community.  Look at the amount of response on this board, the vast majority of folks in this area think this is a big deal.  It would be even more disrespectful to those folks if the station did NOT break into regular programming to announce Favre's retirement.  I'm glad people are different and I know there are tons of people who don't give a darn about the Packers or Favre or football, that is just fine.  HOWEVER, the media's job is to report the news that is important to masses.  In Green Bay that is the case.  I guarantee programming was not interrupted in New Mexico or Delaware about Favre because....the majority of people don't care.  In Green Bay, the majority do.  Do you all understand now?
